Are you an experienced technician or maintenance mechanic looking to break into the clerical world? An expert technical writing company is looking to add a full-time, permanent, Technical Writer to their growing team!

No technical writing experience needed! You will partner and train with their lead writers and learn how to use their already created templates to create manuals.

This company offers technical writing, illustrating, and consulting for many industries including aerospace and transportation. It's an exciting time to join their team as they are poised for significant growth due to increased customer demand.

This is a hybrid position where you’ll take your mechanical aptitude and use it to help create documents for industrial and manufacturing companies around the US. Perfect role for anyone who is a technician, mechanic, or works in maintenance looking to transition into less of a physical role with a long-term, stable company.

Technical Writer Responsibilities:

  • Research, review, and comprehend manufacturing documentation, drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, etc for customers.
  • Interpret complex systems and how they are to be integrated into technical manuals.
  • Shadow maintenance technicians while they work on equipment so you can help create/adjust manuals.
  • Develop maintenance procedures and diagrams based on customer’s needs and requirements.
  • Meet writing schedules and deadlines.

You will be successful in this role if you if have a hand on mechanical experience and like working in a team environment.

Schedule: Flexible day shift hours with some remote capabilities.

Technical Writer Qualifications:

  • Over 3 years of experience working as a technician, mechanic, or in maintenance.
  • Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematic, blueprints, etc.
  • Needs to be comfortable working onsite occasionally with clients and technicians.

Compensation: Up to $30/hr. DOE

Location: Hybrid, will need to occasionally go onsite to either one of their locations in Beaverton, OR and Gresham, OR.
